Ag Ministry may raise 2023 fertilizer export quota by 2.2 mln tns
MOSCOW, Nov 13 (PRIME) – The Russian fertilizer producers have used up about 60% of the 2023 export quota, but the Agriculture Ministry has supported a proposal to raise it by 2.2 million tonnes to 18.5 million tonnes, the ministry said in a statement on Monday.
"The previous export quotas were used up by about 60%. The Agriculture Ministry in its turn has supported a proposal by the Industry and Trade Ministry to raise the quota by 2.2 million tonnes more," the statement read.
Agriculture Minister Dmitry Patrushev said, as cited in the statement, that farmers were buying fertilizers for the 2024 sowing campaign, and that the purchases were made properly. The price situation was stable, the report read.
